Sisters Amy and Hannah Breeding to headline Gospel Night at 56th Annual Dogwood Festival

ORLEANS — The spiritual heart of the Orleans Dogwood Festival returns this week as sister duo Amy and Hannah Breeding take the stage for the Annual Gospel Night in the Park.

The free community concert is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the historic Congress Square bandstand in downtown Orleans.

The Breeding sisters bring a deep-rooted musical heritage to the festival. Their journey began in the pews of their childhood church, and they have now spent over 26 years traveling and performing as a duo.

For Amy and Hannah, the music is a vessel for a larger mission. They view their performances as a blend of song and personal testimony, aimed at sharing the “good news” while providing an uplifting experience for those in attendance.

This year’s Gospel Night holds special significance as the 56th Annual Orleans Dogwood Festival serves as an official kickoff site for the “America 250” celebration—a national initiative commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Wednesday Festival Highlights:

  • Carnival Fun: The Funtime Carnival will be in full swing at Congress Square, featuring “Bracelet Night” for unlimited rides from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • New Attractions: Earlier in the day, the town will host a ribbon-cutting for the new Carnegie America 250 Play Area at the public library at 3:30 p.m.
  • Art & Culture: Visitors can browse the Student Art Reception and view patriotic banners designed by local Orleans High School students.

As one of the region’s most popular free events, Gospel Night typically draws a large crowd to the downtown square. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, as seating around the 1926 brick bandstand is first-come, first-served.

While the festival is a town-wide celebration, the Orleans Town Council reminds visitors that travel campers and trailers are prohibited from parking along the curbs surrounding the park. Motorists should expect increased pedestrian traffic and are asked to park in designated curbside spots.
