MESA to host workshop on sexual violence prevention in New Albany

NEW ALBANY – MESA: Community Empowerment and Violence Prevention will host a special event for sexual assault awareness month on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. The presentation, titled Using Art to prevent sexual violence in Agricultural Worker Communities, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Shine Family Conference Center located at the Purdue Campus/Floyd County Extension Office.

The workshop invites community members to engage in a discussion about issues impacting agricultural worker communities. Participants will have the opportunity to decorate a bandana in support of farmworker women as part of the advocacy efforts. The event aims to provide a platform for learning and community support regarding violence prevention in the agricultural sector.

All members of the public are welcome to attend the session. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register in advance through the provided online form. The Floyd County Extension Office is located at 3000 Technology Ave # L2110.
