BNL dominates Eastern Greene Invitational meets

EASTERN HEIGHTS – Bedford North Lawrence swept to wins in the Eastern Greene Invitational during high school track action on Tuesday.

The Stars won the girls meet with 162 points in the six-team field. In the boys meet, BNL totaled 211 points.

In the girls meet, BNL’s winners included Alaina Fish (400 in 1:05.61), Paige Voigtschild (800 in 2:44.00), Avery Brown (pole vault at 7-6) and Madalyn Mason (shot put at 31-0).

The Stars also claimed the 3200 relay (Voigtschild, Gracie Simmerman, Ashlynn York and Madison Chandler in 11:31.55) and 400 relay (Brooke Barr, Brown, Emma Heinzman and Kendall Pittman in 56.36).

In the boys meet, BNL had three double winners. Luke Morris won the 110 high hurdles (16.71) and 300 low hurdles (45.40), Parker Beeson won the blue ribbon in the 200 (24.37) and long jump (20-7), and Tripp Stahl claimed the shot put (52-6) and discus (146-0).

Other individual winners for BNL included Eli McFarland (11:10.52 in the 3200) and Driven Axsom (11-3 in the pole vault).

The Stars also swept the relays. Weston Holtz, Tate McFarland, Eli McFarland and Sam Strauser clocked 8:54.38 in the 3200. Beau Allender, Axsom, Morris and Beeson posted 46.99 in the 400, while Axsom, Ben Conner, Morris and Saeben Arce took the 1600 (3:47.55).

BNL will host Springs Valley and Barr-Reeve on Wednesday.
