MITCHELL—Music lovers are invited to attend the inaugural concert of the Lawrence County Winds ensemble, set for Sunday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Historic Mitchell Opera House. The concert, titled “Common Threads,” is free to the public.

The new community band, which brings together musicians of all ages and experience levels, is conducted by Paul Pfiefer. The ensemble’s commitment to bridging generations is evident in its roster, which notably includes several talented student musicians from both Mitchell Jr/Sr High School and Bedford North Lawrence High School.
The Lawrence County Winds will present a diverse program featuring a mix of classic and contemporary wind band pieces. The scheduled works include compositions by notable names such as Dwayne Milburn, Pierre La Plante, march king J.P. Sousa, A. Dvorak, and contemporary composers Frank Ticheli and Percy Grainger, among others.
This debut performance promises to be a showcase of local talent and a celebration of musical tradition within Lawrence County.
