Purdue Extension Daviess County to host “Extension à la Mode” celebration October 31

WASHINGTON — Purdue Extension Daviess County is inviting the community to a sweet fall celebration in honor of Apple Crunch Month. The Extension à la Mode Open House will take place on Friday, October 31, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Daviess County Government Center, 300 E. Hefron St., Suite 119, Washington, IN, in the front lobby.

This free event will feature a variety of apple-themed dishes paired with ice cream, offering guests a fun and flavorful way to celebrate Indiana Apple Crunch Month. While enjoying the treats, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the many ways Purdue Extension serves the community—from health and wellness and youth programs to agriculture, community development, and more.

Organizers encourage everyone to “come crunch, connect, and learn what Extension can do for you.”

Those in need of accommodations are asked to contact the Daviess County Extension Office at 812-254-8668 by October 24, 2025. For special dietary needs, contact Cindy Barber by the same date.

The event is open to the public and promises a welcoming afternoon of community connection, education, and apple-filled fun.
