BEDFORD — Brooklyn Peterson of Mitchell was crowned the 2025 Lawrence County Fair Queen on Friday evening at Schaffer Auditorium, concluding an evening of interviews, presentations, and heartfelt moments.

Peterson, the daughter of John and Terri Peterson, also took home the People’s Choice Award. Throughout the upcoming week, she will serve as an ambassador for the fair and represent Lawrence County at future events, including the Indiana State Fair.
“I’m so excited, and it was so unexpected, and it really is just an honor of how much Lawrence County means to me,” Peterson said.

Four contestants competed for the crown, with Jaida Blais of Mitchell named first runner-up and Karingtyn Yost of Bedford finishing as second runner-up. Blais, daughter of Chris and Amanda Blais, also received the Miss Congeniality title.

The event included multiple age divisions. In the Junior Miss category, Laney Wilder of Mitchell, daughter of Keri and Tommy Wilder, earned top honors following a post-event tiebreaker decision. Heather Stigall, daughter of Jeremy and Heather Stigall, was named runner-up.
In the Princess division, Payton Humphrey, daughter of Chance and Becky Humphrey, was crowned the winner. Minnie McAninch, daughter of Abree and Eric McAninch, took home the title of Little Miss.
Contestants were judged on poise, personality, and public speaking through an interview process and onstage questions. Admission was $5, with proceeds supporting the Queen Division’s scholarship fund.
The newly crowned queens and their courts will be active throughout the fair week, appearing at events and supporting 4-H and community activities.
