BEDFORD – North Lawrence Community Schools, in partnership with Chartwells, has officially launched its 2025 Summer Food Service Program, offering free take-home meals for all children 18 and under. The program began June 2 and will continue through July 25.

Designed to expand access to nutritious meals during summer break, the “Meals at Home” initiative allows parents to pick up a full week’s worth of breakfast and lunch items twice a week at designated sites. Children do not need to be present at the time of pickup, and no proof of income or school enrollment is required.
Meal pickups are taking place at Bedford Middle School (Door #6) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. On Tuesdays, families receive 3 lunches and 3 breakfasts, and on Fridays, they receive 4 lunches and 4 breakfasts, covering seven full days with just two visits per week.
Additionally, on-site meals are available now through June 18 at Parkview Primary School (Door #1). Breakfast is served from 8:35 a.m. to 8:55 a.m., and lunch is available from 11:50 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Important Reminders:
- Meals are free for all eligible children.
- Each child may only receive two meals per day and may not visit multiple sites for additional meals.
- A system is in place to prevent duplicate pickups.
Pizza, chicken nuggets, and other kid-favorite options are included on the rotating menu.
For updates or questions, families should follow North Lawrence Community Schools or contact their local building administrators.
