Indiana State Police seeks lateral recruits for 88th Recruit Academy

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Police (ISP) is actively seeking applications for its 88th Recruit Academy, specifically targeting lateral applicants. Individuals interested in a career as an Indiana State Trooper are encouraged to apply online at IndianaTrooper.com. The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

The ISP is looking for current full-time merit law enforcement officers, both in-state and out-of-state, with a minimum of three continuous years of law enforcement service as of September 14, 2025. Out-of-state officers’ training hours and certifications will be reviewed for equivalency to Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board standards. Successful lateral recruits will be afforded their district of choice.

Basic eligibility requirements for an Indiana State Trooper include:

  • Must be a United States citizen.
