New Albany blanks BNL 6-0

NEW ALBANY – New Albany’s Tyler Hubbard hammered two home runs as the Bulldogs belted Bedford North Lawrence 6-0 during high school baseball action on Monday.

New Albany pitcher Sean Rose pitched a complete game, allowing only six hits, as the Bulldogs evened their record at 7-7.

Hubbard blasted a lead-off homer in the first, then followed with a two-run bomb in the second.

“Two pitches that were hit out of the park, that was the difference,” BNL coach Steven McNabb said. “Tip my cap to him, their pitcher, and their team. They outplayed us, outcoached us, and had more energy than we did. We showed our youth in a few different ways. We have to learn from it.”

Cutler Chastain had two hits for the Stars (9-4).

Hubbard was 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs and scored three runs.

The Stars will visit Bloomington North on Tuesday.
