The cast of “Fiddler on the Roof” is just as interesting offstage as much as onstage.

BEDFORD—On Friday, May 17th, WBIW was granted the privilege of going backstage before the Friday night show of “Fiddler on the Roof.” The director, Daniel Baker, was extremely gracious and allowed photos, recordings, and interviews.

The cast and crew prepare for the show minutes before going onstage.

The enormous cast and crew fit inside a backstage dressing room, making the big area feel small. That was special, however, as the group has grown to become a family. From fun conversations to inside jokes and helping each other put on costumes and apply makeup, this group will have a hard time leaving each other.

Members of the ensemble, Molly Osmon and Josiah Laskowski, share a conversation while preparing for the night ahead.

“My experience with this play has been absolutely incredible,” Osmon shared with WBIW. “The people here are so kind and genuine, and I’ve had an absolute blast hanging out with everyone and making new friends.” Josiah Laskowski explained, “It’s pretty tiring for the main actors, but we’ve all enjoyed it; everyone does a fantastic job. I didn’t really realize though how much I love theater till this show.”

The cast and crew did a vocal warmup just moments before going onstage. They sang a song called “Shalom.”

Members of the cast warm their voices for the three-hour show ahead of them.

The cast and crew were so affectionate to one another. They’ve worked together on a show for months and shared memories for a lifetime.
