Reminder some streets in Orleans are closed for solar eclipse

ORLEANS – Some streets in and around historic Congress Square in Orleans will be CLOSED to vehicle traffic during the downtown Eclipse activities.

Residents are welcome to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and water and enjoy the afternoon with us in historic Congress Square.

There will be some food scattered about, including Boom Burger, Hometown Scoops, etc. El Compadre will be open as well. SpeakEasy will open its Beer Garden to visitors from Noon to 8 p.m.

Live Entertainment will be performed through the afternoon.

Be sure to stick around and enjoy the sounds of Flatline, who will perform on the square’s north side starting at 6 p.m. SpeakEasy will host its beer garden from the show until 8 p.m. This will be a FREE Concert.

The Orleans Chamber will be handing out FREE Eclipse Glasses while supplies last. J & S and other vendors will also be in the park, offering Eclipse keepsakes.

Reminder: Alcohol is NOT permitted inside the town park square.

Orleans Police, Fire, and Orange County Sheriff’s Department will all be in the downtown area during the event.

Everyone is being asked to be patient while out and about on Monday, with the expected increase in traffic and people in town. We want everyone to be safe and enjoy this unique experience.
