Indiana State Police accepting applications for Crime Scene Investigator for Indianapolis Post

INDIANAPOLIS— The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for a Crime Scene Investigator to work out of the Indianapolis Post. The Indianapolis District covers Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, and Shelby Counties.

The primary responsibilities of this civilian position are to provide routine laboratory services and forensic support at crime scenes with associated court presentations and, as directed, to maintain the security and quality assurance standards for evidence handling and storage at district facilities.

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in natural science, forensic science, and/or criminal justice courses. Five years of experience as a certified full-time Crime Scene Investigator for an ISO/IEC 17020 or 17025 accredited laboratory may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.

Pay is $66,534 annually but may be adjusted based on education, experience, and training. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and accrued time off.
