Lawrence County 4-H Rabbit Club will host its 13th annual open rabbit show March 8-9

BEDFORD – The Lawrence County 4-H Rabbit Club will host its 13th annual open rabbit show March 8-9 at the Lawrence County Expo Hall. 

Monday, March 5th, is the last day for early registration if you want to show a rabbit. The Cost is $4 a rabbit for each show. After March 5th, the cost is $7 for each rabbit participating in the show. To register a rabbit, email lawcorabbit@gmail.com. Include your name, address, phone number, rabbit breed, color, division (senior, junior), what shows you would like to participate in youth or adult, and the rabbit’s tattoo.

The public is welcome to attend the event for free.

This show is the primary fundraiser for the club. There will be a bake sale, concessions, an Easter egg hunt, and a silent auction.

On Friday, March 8th, the bake sale and concessions will be available at 4 p.m.; on Saturday, March 9th, the bake sale and concessions will open at 6 a.m.

The weekend will start with a rare breed, all-breed, and mini Rex specialty show. Saturday will feature three all-breed shows and a mini lop specialty show.  

“This is a great opportunity to see what all is involved in rabbit shows,” said Club Leader Keri Barker.

The silent auction includes Holiday World tickets, Wilstem Ranch tickets, holiday decorations, A JavAroma gift set, kid-themed gift baskets and other gift baskets, and more. Bidding will close at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

During the open show, exhibitors from all surrounding states.  The American Rabbit Breeders Association sanctions the shows.

 All proceeds will be used for barn repairs, sending members to 4-H camp, and multiple philanthropic activities.
