Indiana emergency rental assistance is available

INDIANA – Are you an Indiana renter struggling to pay rent? Are you a landlord with a tenant who is struggling to pay rent?

IERA2 can provide a maximum of 18 months of rental assistance to Hoosier households behind in rent. IERA2 helps by paying past due rent and up to three months of future rent and can even help with utilities. There are three ways to apply:

  1. Call 211 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. 2-1-1 can assist renters with creating a profile and completing the question-and-answer portion of the application. Households that apply through 2-1-1 will complete the document collection portion of the application on their own.
  2. Call your local INCAA network member. Network members can assist with creating a profile, completing the question-and-answer portion of the application, and filling out the document collection form. You can find your local INCAA provider HERE.
  3. If a landlord is a participating IERA landlord, they can start an application on behalf of their tenant. The tenant will then be notified to complete the remainder of the application.

IERA2 will issue one payment to each eligible household. Households needing additional assistance must enroll in Family Stability Counseling with the INCAA network.
