MITCHELL – The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office was called to assist in investigating the cause of a fire that damaged an apartment building.
The fire was reported on New Year’s Eve at North 4th and Warren Streets at 9:20 p.m. The apartment building was unoccupied.
Firefighters from the City of Mitchell and Marion Township Volunteer Fire Departments responded.
The fire was burning on the top floor of the building. Firefighters used the Marion Townships VFD Ladder Truck 52 to access the roof.
Mitchell Police officers and an IU LifeLine ambulance crew also responded.
