CANNELBURG – On Monday, around 3:00 p.m., Cannelburg Fire Department firefighters, assisted by Montgomery, Washington Township, and Loogootee Volunteer Fire Departments, responded to a house fire on County Road 375 South.
The second story and roof of the house were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
Despite efforts, the fire caused the roof to collapse. The home was destroyed in the blaze.
Firefighters worked for approximately four hours to extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
