Celebrate the holiday in Downtown Bedford on Saturday, December 2

BEDFORD – Join the fun in the heart of Downtown Bedford as the community rings in the holiday season with Bedford’s Christmas Around the Square on Saturday, December 2.

A Bedford Community Band and Choir performance will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Stonegate Arts and Education Center. The event is free to attend.

Visit the Open Air Christmas Market enjoy food from local food trucks, and purchase Christmas crafts and gifts from vendors lined up on J Street between 15th and 16th streets.

Some vendors, along with the downtown shops and restaurants, will be open early in the day; however, all street vendors will operate from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

There will be plenty of vendors on-site during the market, and many of the downtown business storefronts will be decorated and illuminated as part of the season and Saturday’s festivities.

Enjoy a free live reindeer exhibit from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and free photos with Santa from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Former Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham and his wife, Amber

This year, the Grand Marshal is former Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham. He will be recognized from the steps in front of the Miss Indiana statue on the west side of the Lawrence County Courthouse at 5:30 p.m.

The Bedford Christmas Parade – Southern Indiana’s largest Illuminated Christmas Parade – will step off at 6:00 p.m. The Parade lineup begins at 3:00 p.m., and all units should be in position by 5:00 p.m.

Spectators can enjoy festive parade music and hear the announcements near the corner of 16th and I Street as over one hundred parade entries adorned in Christmas lights travel through downtown Bedford.
