GREENE CO. – A vehicle went up in flames after hitting a deer along Interstate 69 on Thanksgiving, according to the Center-Jackson Fire Territory.
Eastern Greene Fire Territory was dispatched on Thanksgiving Day to extinguish a vehicle fire on Interstate 69 at the State Road 45 exit.
Upon arrival, Command 2 advised of a working vehicle fire and directed Engine 21 to advance down the exit ramp.
Chief Inman reported the fire was the result of the car striking a deer.
There were no serious injuries involved. An ambulance was requested to attend to the family.
Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Monroe Fire Protection District, Greene County Ambulance Service E-1 crew, and Greene County Sheriff’s Department deputies..
