INDIANAPOLIS – Secretary of State Diego Morales recognizes and congratulates State Senator Mike Gaskill on being appointed as the new chair of the Senate Committee on Elections.
“Senator Gaskill has a proven record of dedication to our state. I’m confident he will lead the Senate Committee on Elections with knowledge and integrity. As Indiana’s Chief Election Officer, I look forward to working alongside Senator Gaskill to ensure the safe and secure elections that Hoosiers deserve,” said Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales.
Senator Gaskill represents Senate District 25, which includes Madison County and portions of Hamilton County.
Senator Gaskill replaces former chair State Senator Jon Ford, who announced he was stepping down in September.
Lawmakers returned to the Statehouse today for Organization Day, which serves as the ceremonial start of the 2024 legislative session. Secretary Morales invited all legislators and legislative assistants to his office this morning for coffee and doughnuts as an informal welcome back.
