Request to subdivide property returns to planning and zoning commission after 3 years

BEDFORD – Carol Anderson wants to separate her 36.5 acres of land at 600 25th Street into three separate parcels. Carol wishes to subdivide her land so she can give it to her children and keep the land in the family.

This request has been through the city processes before, but a small complication with the driveway halted its progress in 2020.

New paperwork, an easement, has been acquired to remedy this problem, and should allow the request to move forward.

An easement is the right to use the land owned by another for some designated purpose. Such uses typically include ingress/egress, rights-of-way, utility, or water access.

The planning commission sent it to a public hearing at their December meeting.
