Raising $56,760 with the dinner and the silent and live auctions, the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is well on its way to achieving its goal of $75,000.

The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County Director of Resource Development Ashley Gilstrap stated, “We’re confident we can raise the remaining amount to reach our goal for the kitchen renovation of $75,000 by the end of the year.”

When the club reaches the goal of $75,000, it will be matched by the United Way of South Central Indiana to provide the $150,000 needed to update the club’s 23-year-old kitchen into a commercial kitchen set-up to provide a culinary program.

The culinary program aims to serve the children an afternoon or evening meal. Many club members do not receive a meal once they go home.

The live auction featured items such as a Hawaii vacation for six, Lasik Eye Surgery, and a distillery and ATV tour for five.

The kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County made the event table centerpieces.

The club still needs to raise $18,240 to reach their goal, and they can’t do it alone. While they’ll be putting together more fundraising events soon, you can also help their mission by donating directly.

If you would like to donate towards the kitchen renovation or learn more about it, please get in touch with agilstrap@bgcblc.org.
