Rescue Robin’s mission $7000 closer to goal

BEDFORD – For the White River Humane Society , over $6,000 was raised on Day 1, November 1st towards Rescue Robin’s $40,000 goal.

This morning, November 4, the WHRS updated the count, and locked in at $7,685, more than a thousand higher than the last update.

Visit Robin and his beautiful huskies in the Rural King parking lot and show support for WRHS. WRHS is dedicated to the care of and re-homing for homeless, abandoned and neglected animals.

Robin Compton sits outside the fence that keeps the puppers in check. Robin only steps out of the cage to use the restroom, talk to people, and eat.
Winter, nicknamed “Blinky” was very eager to see visitors.
Robin steps out of the shelter and is greeted by his exuberant dogs.

Sisters Paula Reynolds and Kim Burgess volunteered yesterday to help out, helping both feed the dogs and keep Robin company.

Loki, a beautiful young dog with blue and brown heterochromatic eyes, is being fostered by Robin and is a ten-month-old great Pyrenees and husky mix. Robin was asked by the police to see if he could care for the puppy until his owners could take care of him properly.

Robin admitted that if the owners end up not coming back for Loki he would happily keep Loki himself.

This is Robin’s 8th year doing rescue Robin at Rural King. Last year the fundraiser was finished in 15 days of the pledged 30 days, after $30,000 was raised.

“I’m prepared to stay 40 days and 30 nights out here,” Robin said. He’s incredibly dedicated to the cause and truly has a heart for animals. Most of his dogs were rescued from one situation or another, and Winter was even from the White River Humane Society.

Robin said his fundraisers have always been funded in half the time or less than he prepared to stay for.

Robin stays with his dogs for the entire venture, sleeping inside the small structure on a raised cot (left).

Robin is camping out with his fluffy friends in front of Rural King for the duration of November, or until he reaches his goal of $40,000 raised. With the cold incoming for winter, it’s a good time to donate and get him and his furry friends safely home and warm.
