Woman was arrested after damaging a vehicle she spent the night in

BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested on Saturday, October 28th after Bedford Police officers were called to 1305 K Street the Hauck House parking lot on a report of damage to a vehicle.

When officers arrived they were told that 41-year-old Brittany Woodridge had entered the caller’s 2004 Blue Saturn Vue through the right rear side window that was covered with duct tape because the window was broken.

The caller reported that Woodridge had ripped off the rearview mirror and pulled out the fabric roof liner.

The mirror was found in the rear seats with the wiring hanging down.

The caller told police Woodridge had also thrown trash all over the inside of the vehicle. The caller reported that she believed Woodridge had spent the night inside the vehicle and left the scene possibly headed to Circle K on L Street.

At 9:13 p.m. officer received a call from Circle K on L Street reporting Woodridge had entered the store earlier in the day and was causing issues. She was last seen walking north toward the Hauck House at 1305 K Street.

Officers found Woodridge had returned to the 2005 Blue Saturn Vue she had damaged earlier. She was sitting in the rear seat.

Woodridge told police she knew the female owner of the vehicle and had permission to stay inside the vehicle. Police again spoke to the owner of the vehicle and she told police she did not give Woodridge permission to be in the vehicle.

Woodridge was arrested on charges of unauthorized entry to a vehicle and criminal mischief and was transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
