Oolitic man captured on video violating his protective order

WILLIAMS – An Oolitic man was arrested on Tuesday, October 31 after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call at 4:10 p.m. from a woman reporting 64-year-old John Hackler was at her home at 100 block of Grissom Road in Williams in violation of a protective order.

Hackler left the home once the women asked him to leave.

The woman then left the home with her children and received an alert from her home video surveillance that Hackler had returned to her home and was knocking on the door.

In the video, police see Hackler’s white Pontiac G6 in the driveway and Hackler walking to the front door and knocking on the door.

Police located Hackler in his garage at his home at 237 Lafayette Avenue in Oolitic. He was wearing the same clothes as the male in the video. He was detained on a charge of invasion of privacy and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
