“Positive regional board representation is extremely important to Southern Indiana Community Health Care and fulfillment of its unique mission,” said Carla McSpadden, Chair of the SICHC Board of Directors. “We are indeed fortunate to have such high-quality board members who are passionate about supporting the commitment of our medical professionals to deliver excellent healthcare service with broad access.”

Joining the board from Lawrence County are long-time community leader, educator, and economic development professional Gene McCracken; Tracy Bailey, a former senior banking executive, and current small business owner; and Larry Hardman, a City of Bedford Council member and experienced community leader who also serves on other Lawrence County service boards.

“We appreciate the willingness of our new Lawrence County board members to serve by joining an already strong group of regional community leaders,” said Nancy Radcliff, SICHC CEO.  “Strong, experienced, and focused board leadership is critical in these times of change and advancement in the healthcare industry, especially as it reflects our mission of utilizing Christ-centered principles to serve medically underserved, rural communities.”

Drawing on his former economic development and elected official background, McCracken noted: “I hope to work with the current board in increasing the access that patients may have in receiving well-qualified treatment.” Bailey added, noting the importance of having quality healthcare available: “It is important to me to provide opportunities for people in Lawrence County to have reasons to live in the county and stay in the county. SICHC provides another option for health care.”

Citing his ongoing commitment to positive community service, Councilman Hardman said, “I want to actively contribute to the board’s mission statement of overseeing the management and continuity of the health center. Medical care is an essential element for all residents to ensure their quality of life.”
