BEDFORD – The 4-H Club, Superior STEAM, is set to host a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Scrimmage on October 28th at the Bedford Campus of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. This is the second such competition that Superior STEAM has hosted.
Several teams of 9-14 year old future scientists, artists, engineers, innovators, and leaders from around the state will gather to be judged on how well they display the FIRST Core Values, how well they innovate a solution to a problem related to this year’s game theme, and–of course–how well the robot they build completes the missions on the field.
FIRST Robotics is an international robotics competition with three divisions for students 6-18 years old. Teams that compete in FIRST Robotics are expected to display Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition. The game for this year is called MASTERPIECE. The theme focuses on art and hobbies. There are over 15 different missions that each team can try to get points from. Watch the full missions video here:FIRST LEGO League Challenge MASTERPIECE Robot Game Missions.
The event is free and open to the public to view. Doors open in the morning for closed team judging. Robot matches start after lunch. You can also watch the Livestream of the Scrimmage on Superior STEAM’s Facebook page or YouTube channel.
