Lt. Gov. Crouch, IHCDA presents Tammie O’Haver with Outstanding Resident Volunteer Award

INDIANAPOLIS – Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) presented the Excellence in Affordable Housing Awards at the annual Indiana Statewide Housing Conference on Sep. 26, 2023. Among those recognized was Tammie O’Haver, who won the award for Outstanding Resident Volunteer.

“Affordable housing is vital to a community’s vibrancy, and that vibrancy is most evident in the lives of its residents,” said Lt. Gov. Crouch, Indiana’s Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. “Through her selfless efforts and boundless compassion, Tammie O’Haver represents all that our communities can be. We are proud to recognize all she does to support and uplift those around her.”

The Outstanding Resident Volunteer Award recognizes a resident of an Indiana affordable housing development who represents those who have transformed their lives into safe, decent, and affordable housing.

Tammie O’Haver, a resident of Lake Meadows Assisted Living in Fishers, was selected for the tremendous impact she has in her community. She engages in multiple activities with others in the facility, including arts and crafts, painting, sign language classes, gardening, and games. O’Haver leads a regular crafting class and is known for creating and maintaining the community bulletin board. She has taken the time to get to know many residents and their families and has been instrumental in developing a network of support for her neighbors.

Lt. Gov. Crouch and IHCDA partner with the Indiana Affordable Housing Council to distribute these awards.
