Doyle Wayne Phipps, 52, of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Doyle was a member of Brownstown Christian Church, and he attended the International Bible College at Michigan Christian Church for two years. Doyle was employed at Edgewood Junior High School in Ellettsville for six years, and he also worked at Lowe’s.
Doyle loved his family. He also loved preaching and leading the singing of songs at church services, as well as attending other church activities. He also enjoyed fishing with his father, attending Spring Mill Bible Camp, and watching IU football and basketball, as he was an avid IU fan.
Born on October 1, 1970, in Bedford, he was the son of Doyle Lee and Joan Sue Bell Phipps. His father preceded him in death, and his mother survives. On March 11, 2017, he married Michelle Ann Ballard, and she survives in Brownstown.
Survivors also include two step-sons: Cody Nelson Ballard and Micah Dean Ballard; one step-daughter, Marena Michelle Ballard; one brother, Skippy Lee (Vicki) Phipps; one aunt, Pauline Sanders; and one uncle, Ralph Bell.
Funeral services for Doyle Wayne Phipps will be conducted at Noon on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Brownstown Christian Church with Bud Smith officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Brownstown Christian Church, and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Brownstown Christian Church. The interment will take place at Crest Haven Cemetery, Bedford.
Memorials may be made in Doyle’s memory to the Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
