Woman enters a home without permission and is arrested

MITCHELL – A Bloomington woman was arrested after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies spotted a woman walking at North Second and West Warren streets with blood on her face.

Christina Riggs

The officers asked 50-year-old Christina Riggs if she was hurt.

While speaking to Riggs two other women at 119 West Warren Street attempted to get the officer’s attention. They told police Riggs had walked into their grandmother’s house uninvited and started a confrontation pushing the woman. Others in the home were able to push Riggs out of the home. The family does have a no trespass order against Riggs preventing her from being on the property.

Riggs told police she didn’t know what happened but she had “gotten into it” with another person. Police say Riggs was intoxicated.

When Riggs was detained she refused medical treatment and was transported to jail on charges of criminal trespass, residential entry, and public intoxication. Police say her blood-alcohol level was 0.113.
