Art and Horses veterans event is August 6

BLOOMINGTON – People and Animal Learning Services, Inc. (PALS) and Creative Arts for Vets are hosting ‘Art and Horses’ on Sunday, August 6, in honor of veteran’s service to our nation. This is a free wellness experience with art and horses and is open to veterans and active duty, along with the National Guard, or Army Reserves. The event will take place from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at PALS-Making Strides and Changing Lives, located at 7644 West Elwren Road, in Bloomington.

Horses and soldiers have a long history together, from the horse’s first use in warfare to its more recent use as a recreational wellness partner. Those attending will spend time creating symbols and then painting those symbols on horses. Create and design your own symbols or use those commonly found in heraldry, your lineage, or historical warrior cultures. Horses will then be bathed clean. Attendees are able to bring a friend, spouse, or an adult family member.

This is a non-riding experience. PALS has an indoor facility and the event will be held rain or shine. Attendees should wear closed-toe shoes.
