Constellation Stage & Screen announces educational and scholarship opportunities

BLOOMINGTON – After a fun-filled summer of camps, Constellation is thrilled to kick off the school year with a robust lineup of fall classes, running September through December. With hands-on learning opportunities for all ages – Littles (grades K-2), Kids (grades 3-5), Middles (grades 6-8), Teens (grades 9-12), and Adults (ages 18+) – Constellation’s fall session has a little something for everyone. Enrollment for Constellation’s after-school, evening, and weekend classes officially opens on Wednesday, July 19!

This fall, Constellation is bringing back its acclaimed Short Film Projects, in addition to new classes and themed offerings like Theater Playground: Heroes and Villains, Acting for Kids: Alien Invasion, Broadway Cabaret for Teens: The Teen Musical, and Acting for Adults: “Best Play” Scene Study. Also new this session are Editing for Adults; Adobe Premiere Fundamentals & Techniques, taught by Constellation’s Director of Film Emelie Flower, and Comedy Club for both Kids and Middles, taught by Jonathon Zapf.

Constellation’s Education Director, Eric Shelley, has seen first-hand the impact of his programming. “Not only am I witnessing meteoric personal growth in students as they build skills and gain confidence in their abilities–whether they be performance-based or technical-based– I’m seeing interpersonal connections being made, friendships blossoming–a community being built. That’s what drives me to do this work.”

Constellation is committed to increasing access to its educational programming, offering scholarships in all classes for students grades K-12. These scholarships are sponsored by IU Credit Union and allow qualified students to attend a Constellation class at no cost to them. Information on the scholarship application and eligibility can be found here.

All educational programming will take place at Constellation Studios (411 E. 7th Street, Bloomington, IN 47408) and prices range from $105 to $275, depending on the length and level of the class. Registration is now open for all classes on Constellation Stage & Screen’s website: https://seeconstellation.org/education/classes/.
