Disability and Community Library offering FINDER resource database for those with disabilities and their families

INDIANA – For those with disabilities, and their families, trying to navigate a complex web of services, programs, and other disability-related community resources can be daunting.

Launched in 2019, FINDER is a custom-built, free, online database for any Hoosier with any disability – including mental health – designed to connect people with the service providers, organizations, events in their community, online webinars and other information of interest to them. FINDER is maintained by the library of the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community and funded by grants from the AWS Foundation. FINDER contains listings for service providers, organizations, scholarly and government publications, articles, blogs, webinars, podcasts, etc. concerning all kinds of disabilities, as well as a calendar of events across Indiana and beyond.

Service providers, community advocates, and medical professionals regularly contribute to FINDER, keeping the information current, relevant, and practical. FINDER supports the right for people of all abilities to freely choose how they wish to live their lives to the fullest.
