Gary Faubion, 77, of Bedford passed away on March 20, 2023, peacefully at his home.
Born in Bedford, IN on May 10, 1945, he was the son of Clarence and Dorothy (Allen) Faubion. He married Janet Bundy Poole Faubion on October 5, 1991, and she survives. Gary attended Heltonville High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1963. He was also a member of The Pleasant Run Fire Department for 50 years, The Lawrence County Cattlemen’s Association, The Pleasant Run Advisory Board, and member and a former trustee of The First Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors after 34 years and was on The Board of Directors of Hoosier Hills Credit Union for 46 years. Gary loved his farm, but most of all he loved his family.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Gary are his wife, Janet; children, Julie (Greg) Stancombe and Darin (Melanie) Poole; grandchildren, Jared (Kara) Stancombe, Tyler (Haley) Stancombe, Kaitlyn Poole (fiancé, Steven Paulson) and Jacob Poole (Karyas Slaten); great-granddaughter, Lainey Marie Stancombe; brother, Roger Faubion; nephew, Derek Faubion; great nieces, Olivia Faubion and Lexi Faubion.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Lowell Faubion.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at The First Baptist Church in Bedford, IN with Pastor Lee Brown, Pastor Jason Filler, and Pastor Michael Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Run Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023, also at The First Baptist Church, with a Fireman’s Tribute at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Friday at the church.
