Mary Alice (Greene) Russell, 87, of Mitchell, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, at Mitchell Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born February 1, 1936, in Orleans, she was the daughter of John Greene and Helen Greene (Wagner) Wilfong. She married Oscar Eugene Russell on May 2, 1953, and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2004.
Mary enjoyed gardening and was of the Christian faith.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherry Lynn Russell of Mitchell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Her husband; children, Marcella “Jo Jo” Elliott and Paul Russell; her brothers and sisters, preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Bobby Sorrells officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
