Martin County Growth Alliance and Chamber of Commerce Dinner announce award winners

LOOGOOTTEE – The first annual Martin County Growth Alliance and Chamber of Commerce Dinner was held Thursday, March 16th, at the St. John’s Center Lower Level in Loogootee. This was the first year of this joint effort between the two groups.

Loogootee Mayor Noel Harty served as Master of Ceremonies. The guest speaker was Denny Spinner, the Executive Director of The Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). He discussed all the funding Martin County has received and how there is still good work left to be done.

The meal was provided by Carla’s Catering.

Music was performed by the Shoals Community Pep Band.

A demonstration was given by the Shoals High School Robotics team.

Shoals Robotics students share with the crowd what goes into competitions.

Two high school seniors, one from Loogootee Community School and one from Shoals Community School were awarded $1000 scholarships.

Organization of the Year Award was given to St. Vincent De Paul.
