MITCHELL – Mitchell High School’s dance team, The Stingerz, traveled to Lafayette on Saturday to compete in the Indiana High School Dance Team Association State Championship, where they took home first place in the Jazz category for the second year in a row.
The team also finished second in the Pom category, behind just 0.64 points to Forest Park, and fifth in Kick.
The Mitchell Junior High School team also took home a state championship at the event, finishing first place in the Pom category.
Last year, the Stingerz completed a clean sweep at the event, finishing first in Jazz, Kick, and Pom.
