BNL’s Spreen named to Indiana Junior All-Stars

BNL’s Chloe Spreen was named to the Indiana Junior All-Stars by the IBCA.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence’s Chloe Spreen, one of the leading candidates for the 2024 Miss Basketball award, was selected by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association to the core group for the Indiana Junior All-Stars.

Spreen was the scoring leader for the Stars on their way to the Class 4A state championship. She averaged 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists while powering BNL to a 27-3 record, and she was sensational during the state tournament run, totaling 66 points in the final three games. She was named Indiana’s MaxPreps Player of the Year.

Spreen joins teammate Karsyn Norman (2022), Chloe McKnight (2020), Jorie Allen (2018), Jenna Allen, Dominque McBryde and Alexa Bailey (2014) and Fabrianne Perez (1999) on the BNL list of Junior All-Stars.

”I’m excited to go out there and play,” Spreen said. “All these girls on the team, they each bring something good, different things that we do well. We can make it happen. I’m really excited. It’s definitely a huge honor.”

Chloe Spreen paced the Stars in scoring (19.0) while powering BNL to the 4A state title.

“It’s a well deserved honor for a girl who, in my opinion, is the best all-round player in the state,” BNL coach Jeff Allen said. “She can score at all three levels, she is a great leader with a team-first mentality, and she is just a pleasure to coach.”

The rest of the six-player core group includes Carroll 5-8 guard Ali Harness (23.6 points), Fort Wayne Snider 5-6 guard Jordyn Poole (16.7), Noblesville star and Iowa State recruit Reagan Wilson (16.9), Indian Creek forward and Indiana recruit Faith Wiseman (16.1 points, 9.4 rebounds) and Jennings County’s Juliann Woodard (22.8 points, 12.5 boards).

The six-player Red group, while will join the core six to face the Kentucky Junior All-Stars on June 4 in Jeffersonville, will include Fishers’ Talia Harris, Mooresville’s Rachel Harshman, Westfield’s Ellie Kelleher, Indian Creek’s Lauren Foster, Evansville Memorial’s Avery Kelley and Mt. Vernon’s Ellery Minch.

The Blue group, which will combine with the core six to scrimmage the Indiana Senior All-Stars on June 7, includes Lake Central’s Aniyah Bishop, Fort Wayne Snider’s Johnea Donahue (headed to Bowling Green), Norwell’s Kennedy Fuelling, Goshen’s Kyra Hill, Hamilton Heights’ Camryn Runner and West Lafayette’s Adrianne Tolen.

Chloe Spreen was named the MaxPreps Player of the Year in Indiana.
