Morgan County native is a new detective serving ISP Bloomington District Field Investigations

BLOOMINGTON – Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter recently announced the reassignment of Senior Trooper Michael Tummers to the position of Detective. Detective Tummers will continue to serve the Bloomington District in Field Investigations.

Detective Tummers is a 10-year veteran of the Indiana State Police. He is a 2002 graduate of Mooresville High School. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served five years of active duty, three of which were overseas.

In December 2012, Tummers was appointed as a Trooper after successfully graduating from the 72nd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. Upon successful completion of field training, Tummers was assigned to Owen and then Morgan County where he patrolled as a member of the Bloomington District.

During the last 10 years, Detective Tummers was a member of the Methamphetamine Suppression Section, a Background Investigator, a Field Training Officer (FTO), and a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon (TIP).

Detective Tummers resides in Mooresville with his fiance and their two children.
