The Grinch took a break from terrorizing Whoville to visit Hoover’s Candy Shop Saturday morning

JUDAH – The Grinch took time off from terrorizing the Who’s in Whoville and shifted his mischief to the patrons at Hoover’s Candy Shop Saturday morning to celebrate the holiday season.

This is the second annual Grinch event at Hoover’s Candy Shop, taking a different approach to the holiday cheer and celebration while offering a fun experience for the kids and families.

“We wanted to do something fun for the kids instead of doing a holiday open house,” said Jenny Purcell. “We wanted to gear it more towards the kids and get everyone at the shop to see all that we have to offer because there is so much more here than what we sell at events and wholesale places.”

Guests were able to take free photos with the Grinch, including Mike, 12, and Luke Jones, 6, who took the time to experience the candy shop for the first time along with their father Dave Jones.

“We have never been here before, and felt this was the best chance to experience the shop,” said Dave. “We saw the information online and thought it would be a great idea to come by and check it out.”

Adding to the shenanigans that the Grinch brought to the event, Purcell said they were glad to offer the chance for community members.

“We like the mischievous,” Purcell added. “The Grinch has been terrorizing us in the shop causing a ruckus. We are just glad that we can offer this to celebrate the holidays and have some fun at the shop.”

The Grinch will return next year to continue his tricks, pranks, and funny business for all of the children to enjoy.
