DUGGER – A Dugger man was arrested Friday afternoon after Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department deputies were alerted to an uninvited male who was armed with a handgun at a Dugger home.
When police arrived they found 40-year-old Brant Boyd inside a vehicle parked outside of a home.
Investigators revealed that Boyd has been a suspect involving a stolen vehicle earlier that day.
Police attempted to place Boyd into custody, he attempted to flee but was quickly caught. Police were able to obtain a search warrant for Boyd’s vehicle and located the handgun inside the vehicle.
Boyd was arrested on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, vehicle theft, and resisting law enforcement.
