Crews decorating downtown Bedford for the holiday season

BEDFORD – The City of Bedford Street Department, Parks Department, and Maintenance Crews are hard at work preparing the city for the holidays.

So many of us are grateful for their work of putting up the many lights that make Christmas in Bedford so special.

The Bedford Parks Department is looking for light-up decorations for its Annual Santa House Event at Otis Park in December.

They have enough blow-up decorations but are in need of light-up decorations.

If you have anything you might be interested in donating, please message the Parks Department on Facebook or call the office at 812-275-5692. Someone can pick up the items or you can drop them off.

Kick off the Holiday Season in Downtown Bedford Saturday, December 3rd with Christmas Around the Square.

The Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 3 at 6 p.m. The Grand Marshals this year are Mike, Carol, and Lauren Winnefeld, founders of the Batcole Foundation.

The 2022 Parade theme is “Christmas” to allow parade entries to focus mostly on the Christmas light aspect of their parade entry.  All entries MUST have Christmas lights incorporated into their design, as this is an illuminated Christmas Parade.
