Three bids received for the new Police Station project Thursday afternoon

BEDFORD – The Bedford Redevelopment Commission met in a special session to review bids for the new Bedford Police Station Thursday afternoon.

Former Aldi building and new location for the Bedford Police Department on 16th Street

A total of three bids came in for the construction costs which were reviewed by the commission. The three bids included:

  • Fox Construction Company – $2,024,000 base bid – Alternative A bid – $500 and total alternate B bid – $38,688
  • Building Associates, Bloomington – $2,147,119 base bid – Alternative A bid – $2,500 and total alternate B bid – $30,500
  • T & G Construction – Bedford – $ 2,139,898 base bid – Alternative A bid – $0 and total alternate B bid – $ 32,000

Generally, the commission takes the lowest amount to fund the project but will take the time to review each proposal before making a final decision.

The bids were taken under advisement and will be reviewed and awarded during a special meeting on Thursday, November 3rd at 4 p.m., at the StoneGate Arts & Education Center. Bids for generators for the Police Department will also be awarded during the Thursday meeting.
