BEDFORD – Serenity Roach, daughter of Tara and Michael Roach, was named the 2022 International Junior Miss Indiana Preteen at the State Pageant over Labor Day weekend.
A sixth grader at Parkview Intermediate School in Bedford, Serenity loves to provide service to her community and enjoys the friends she has made along the way through the competition over the six years she has been competing.
“This is my first year competing in the International contest, but I have been competing since I was five years old,” said Serenity. “I was shocked when I was awarded the International Junior Miss Indiana Preteen title because all of the other girls were so great. I was ready for the chance to win, but it was still a surprise.”
Serenity will be attending the International Pageant in Orlando, Florida during Thanksgiving week, representing the great state of Indiana where she will have the opportunity to win her share of over $100,000,000 in cash and prizes.
While many who travel to the Orlando area focus on attractions like Disney World or Universal Studios, Serenity is focused on the competition.
“Starting on the 18th, she won’t have a single day to do anything but practice for the competition,” said her mother Tara. “There will be one day that we can use as a day to relax, and last year we chose to relax by the pool and decompress. We might do something similar this year.”
Creating lasting memories and bonds, Serenity is just glad she can use her platform for good.
“I love serving my community, and winning this only shows how much I love helping others,” Serenity said. “I have the chance to interact with so many different girls from around the world, more than just the ones I talk to around the country regularly.”
International Junior Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating the achievements of today’s outstanding young women and encouraging future global leaders. Each year, the International Junior Miss program awards cash, scholarships, and prizes to recognize and support the development of young women throughout the world.
International Junior Miss has added the ultimate door prize to Internationals in 2022, where each girl that qualifies for the international pageant, will be entered for a chance to win a new 2022 Ford Mustang convertible. International Junior Miss is steadfast in its mission to encourage and inspire the success of young women with a program that is designed to be age-appropriate and family-oriented. Pageants are held in each state for girls ages four to twenty-four in six different age divisions.
