Greene County General Hospital is participating in National Prescription Take Back Day on October 29th

LINTON – Greene County General Hospital is participating in National Prescription Take Back Day.

On Saturday, October 29th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. you can drop off any unwanted or needed medications. The hospital is located at 1185 North 1000 West, in Linton.

This is a drive-up event located at the main entrance of the hospital. A hospital employee will meet you at your vehicle and take your medications that will be disposed of properly.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

The drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat. DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
