Spaghetti on the Square brings in over $13,000 for the Men’s Warming Shelter

BEDFORD – Spaghetti on the Square returned to Harp Commons Saturday evening, raising over $13,000 for the Men’s Warming Shelter at 1414 H Street.

The dinner had multiple ways to support the organization, from purchasing tickets for the dinner, merchandise, and general donations to the renovation efforts and funding for the building, set to re-open for the winter season on November 1st.

Heather Flynn, Director of the Men’s Warming Shelter, feels it is important to include everyone in the community, regardless of status, and this dinner helped to prove that.

“We want to make those in need feel like they are a part of this community because they are. So we have set aside meals for those who were in need of a warm dinner. It truly is amazing seeing all of the volunteers that were able to make it out and help us tonight, as well as those who came to join us and support a great cause.”

The dinner gave out over 450 meals to those in attendance of the event, which showed the importance of the community rallying together for an important need.

The goal for all of the renovations needed to repay the loan for the building $515,000. Following Saturday’s dinner, the project has raised over $190,000, which is about 37 percent of the total goal.
