BEDFORD – The Bedford Housing Authority have approved a resolution to upgrade security measures at the Hauck House following multiple incidents in the building and nearby earlier this year.
Following a shooting incident on the corner of K and 13th streets, and issues with unwanted people in the building, the call for increased security began.
The new resolution will provide each resident and staff member with a key fob, that can be pressed on an entry pad to allow entrance to the building. The main entryway has been locked at the end of the shift of staff members, rather than the previous time of 9 p.m.
An additional set of key fobs will be made available to the Bedford Fire Department, to use for entry in the instance of a medical emergency.
The board approved the resolution, and hope to implement the new system soon.
