Brownstown Central Community Schools host back-to-school events

BROWNSTOWN – Brownstown Central Community School Corp. students will start the 2022-23 school year on Friday, August 5th.

Brownstown Elementary School is hosting a Back to School Night from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2nd.

Students will be able to meet their teacher, see their classroom and bring in school supplies. Parents will have an opportunity to complete health forms, drop off medications, receive bus rider information and routes and car rider tags, and also pay book rental fees. A Kona Ice truck will also be at the school to purchase a shaved ice sweet treat from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Brownstown Central Middle School will have open house events from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2, and 3, giving students and parents an opportunity to acquire back-to-school informational packets. The packets will be available for pickup in the gymnasium after entering the building’s main entrance.

Parents will be given the opportunity to verify and update any contact and/or medical information related to their child.

Students along with parents are invited to find lockers and practice locker combinations; locate classrooms and practice following the student’s daily class schedule; pay book rental, deposit lunch money in their child’s lunch account and purchase physical education uniforms in the main office; and enroll for Harmony access or ask questions about Harmony.

Class schedules will be available online in Harmony by the end of the month.

Although students will not have the opportunity to meet teachers prior to the first day of school, they may visit beginning Monday to view the “Back-to-School BCMS!” virtual orientation video. Grade-level teachers will be pictured along with what they teach and in which classroom.

School supply lists for each grade also are available on the school’s website.

Except for the main office, the school will be closed on Thursday, August 4th for teacher training.
