INDIANA – As the situation in Ukraine continues to escalate, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the FBI have jointly issued the following Shields-Up guidance to help organizations protect their infrastructures: https://www.cisa.gov/shields-up.
Situations like these create an opportunity for successful phishing campaigns. Threat actors craft emails containing “shock and awe” information or messages pleading to our humanitarian side that contain links to malicious sites to either capture credentials or install malicious software on computers. These types of actions are the tip of the spear, which can be leveraged to move further into our environment to cause chaos for either monetary gains or to disrupt efforts in support of Russia’s adversaries.
