Hoosiers families to celebrate the Child Tax Credit, call on Senator Young to support extension

Indiana – On Tuesday, July 13th Hoosier families from across the state will come together to picnic and hold a press conference at University Park in Indianapolis to tout the importance of the brand new and historic $300 per child tax credit that Hoosier families will soon be receiving monthly. Hoosier parents and children will then parade to Senator Young’s Office to deliver postcards in support of the Child Tax Credit.

The Child Tax Credit, which was expanded and made monthly thanks to the American Rescue Plan, will give most families in Indiana direct cash payments beginning July 15th until the end of the year. The historic expansion of the Child Tax Credit is estimated to cut child poverty in half. At the press conference Hoosier Moms, childcare providers, and healthcare providers will outline how families can get the new credit and urge our elected officials  to make this expansion permanent.
