LCIS approves service contracts

FAYETTEVILLE – The Lawrence County Independent School board members approved service contracts for fire protection and inspection services, along with janitorial supplies.

LCIS hold discussions before the start of Thursday’s meeting

Hy-Grade Inc., from Seymour, was chosen to provide janitorial supplies for an initial cost of $3,967.05, with costs expected to decrease over time.

Fairchild Communication Systems, Inc. from Indianapolis, was awarded a contract for fire protection and inspection services which include fire alarm testing and maintenance, kitchen fire suppression system inspection, fire sprinkler inspection, and fire extinguisher inspections. The total cost for these services is $6,637.

The board approved new policies which include medication administration, accounting procedures, personal growth and evaluation plan, student handbook, and employee handbook.

Interest continues to grow in the newly formed charter school, 40 members attended the meeting Thursday in person, with more than 50 watching the meeting by Facebook

New board members were approved they include Brian Grissom, Jennifer Armstrong, and Jason Lyons, The LCIS board is now fully staffed.

This weekend there will be a yard sale at the Fayetteville campus on Saturday. Last week the yard sale earned $2,500.

On Saturday, June 12, the Playground Palooza is being held to raise money for playground equipment. The playground will also be open for the public to use.
